Sunrise and Almond Blossoms
And the tradition continues. Kris and I love going to the teashops around town. Here she is in her hat du jour. Later it was replaced by her favorite top hat. I love the pretty red and pink feathers of this one.
Every year in late winter to early spring the mating dances start and each year an experienced female finds her way to the protected greenery of the patio garden.

LOvely happy pictures...enjoyed them

Wow! The blossoms are beautiful!!!!! So is Kris.
Ok, do you have a duck nest every year?
Seeing your pictures makes me yearn for spring to come here. I love the almond blossoms...
Yes, Toni. Usually at least one female finds a place to her liking either in the Music building courtyard or by the backdoor. We put signs up to remind people to not disturb the nest. Usually people have the sense to leave them alone but it doesn't hurt to remind the random village idiot to NOT TOUCH.
The babies are put through their walking paces almost immediately because the raised beds are a good 36 inches high. That first step is a BIG one for the little guys.
Oh the almond blossoms are so lovely, I can almost smell the dew of morning that comes with the sunrise.
Tea is a lovely tradition....we must make a point to get together some day for a spot of tea and fun talk over cucumber sandwiches.
