Look What's Going Up Outside My Office Door

Picture created from four photos using photostitch application

There is a huge megachurch evangelical revival event going on just outside my building. The http://www.harvest.org/ people have been setting up since Sunday night for this tonight through the weekend event. After watching Christiane Amanpour's "God's Warriors - Part III" last night on CNN, I have a very clear idea of what will be happening in the amphitheatre this weekend. Greg Laurie's Harvest organizers expect 15,000 people per night and man are they set up for it. I'm stunned by the backstage peek I'm getting of this sort of event. I'm blown away and I'm staying home. Traffic and energy is more than I want in my life these days. I'll probably drop in on the live feed at harvest.org to see what will be going on just down the road from me.

I tend to be the same way. It seems a shame to miss things when they are in your own back yard, but the crowds are more than I usually want to deal with.

Have a fun and relaxing weekend.

Interesting view. I'm with you in that I prefer to be "revived" from afar. Enjoy your weekend.

The older I get the less I appreciate noise. It is true. And crowds. Still, I think Greg Laurie is affiliated with our Calvary Chapel in the loose sense we are affiliated with anyone. I'm glad there is a live fee to tune into.

It was in the news just this week that exposure to loud noises can cause heart disease and premature death. I avoid all noise whenever possible...ciao

Wow, thanks for the backstage peek - the photo is excellent. By the way, I agree with you on the crowds and traffic. The live feed sounds like a great idea.

Many years ago my son went to see/hear Greg Laurie and was totally blown away by the man's spirituality and power. Even if a person didn't quite believe everything on the agenda, there will always be a kernel of truth, teaching human goodness. I am interested to see which religious group requests access next. Thanks for the photos-it was in the beginning stages when I was down there this last week, and they seem to have worked very fast.

I saw the Christine Amanpoure(sp?)special too. I suppose some people do need noise for their spirituality, but it is a shame that it has to vibrate into our audible space!!!
A real test for tolerance!
