Great poem and photo, Annie. There is alot of meaning in those words and that photo...

I'm glad we didn't live in the days of slavery. BUT--I do know that many of the slaves were happy people. They worked hard, were honest and loved God and family. These days, I think of so many Americans --sitting back being lazy, not willing to work hard, and yet depending on our Govt (the taxpayers) to take care of them... To me, which is worse? Of course slavery is worse---but I hate what has happened in our country today.

Hugs,
Betsy

Lovely art and words. I just finished a book about the Civil War so this was so timely for me.

Very cool post overall! Liking the rhythm of it. I can hear the beat and I sway to and fro. Dancing along. My heart tells me it's okay to do so.

Peace

Very powerful post and series of haikus. I can feel the drums and hear the voices singing and calling.

Great artpiece and moving haiku - it's got 'layers' and makes you think, love that!
