Weeping for Connecticut

Rejoice in hope; endure in affliction;
 persevere in prayer. Romans 12:12

I had been busy shopping with my granddaughter today and did not hear the news till this evening. Just listening to Brian Williams made tears run down my face. Such a loss! The reference to this happening just before the holidays puzzles me, like if this had happened any other time of the year would not have been as bad. I'm sure that is not what they meant, but the loss of children is horrific no matter when it happens. I did appreciate Brian and Ann Curry's statement about not interviewing the victims' parents or other relatives. Finally, some semblance of decorum from the media.

I agree, Norma. I said to Don just before I read your comment that Christmas would never be the same for these people. The horror is equal at any time but the association of this at a time of year that is so filled with joy makes it a wound that will always be revisited in a terrible and prolonged way . . . year after year after year.

Annie...Thank you so much for your kind comments about my little series of pictures. Yours is so pretty. I can tell that you were as devastated as I was. At the time I learned of the tragedy I had 8 boys in detention for bullying. There were too many for my little room so I had them all spread out in the library in silence all afternoon. I sat on the sofa just saying the rosary over and over and over again. It was all I could do. When is it going to end? genie
