Black and Whie March Challenge

Over at Light and Voices, the challenge for March is black and white photography.  One of the pleasures of photo editing is changing color to b/w; I am reminded again of how much I enjoy it.  Creativity, this month, will revolve around this.

The photo below is, for me, an amusing juxtaposition of tribute to my husband's scholarly interest and my knack for finding curiosities like advertising of a dairy farm in Hong Kong.  I get to thinking about the sweeping epic of the War Between the States raging over wide open spaces and discovering that even a densely populated speck of land such as Hong Kong can have an agricultural hinterland.

Sometimes I think that only I can make such leaps to create connective tissue between two such unrelated objects.  Of course, I'm not and I'm sure there are many more clever than I, but it IS fun and converting the original image to b/w makes the idea of these two objects together even more interesting.

Very clever indeed! I saw a special on the new Pope tonight that elaborated on what you have told me, very cool!

I like the photo very much. I think b/w photos are my favorite as are line drawings - only ink on paper.

I'm looking forward to having more time for challenges. This looks like a good one.
