Today at the Farmers' Market


It's Farmers' Market season again.  We will be having our own little two block street fair every Friday through early November.  We'll have melons in three weeks and Fall veggies in, well, Fall.  


Weeks and weeks of goodness coming our way.





Krista has already used some of the carrots in her OJ at noon.  Carrot/OJ.  Yum.

Farmers' Markets - the BEST part of summer.

Our Farmer's Market just started up, as well, and I can't wait! I hear that there's a bellysdance flashmob performing tomorrow...like we even need another reason to show up!

As I am cooking more these days (more time on my hands) I appreciate the fresh produce on offer. We are so very lucky aren't we- wonderful foods so readily available.
I love carrot juice, introducing it to my school students as we all took part in the juicing process, a process fascinating to many young ones - the sweetness surprised them and won many fans.
Aren't farmers markets fun -such friendly people!

I LOVE farmers market season!! I am off in a bit to ours...you have MUCH more variety this time of year than we do!!!

Annie: Nothing better than fresh local produce and goodies! I love supporting our locals and at the same time I get the benefit from eating fresh from the garden.Our local Markets will open soon and we then get the early stuff like strawberries, raspberries,asparagus,all good for the body and soul!

You lucky thing! What gorgeous vegetables. I suppose that the heat makes it possible to have home-grown aubergines and courgettes virtually all year round. Summer is definitely the best time for light, flavourful veggies. I think I could quite happily go vegetarian for most of summer! Fingers-crossed, it won't be too long until we can go local strawberry picking.
