Sam's blossoms

I had to post these extraordinary flowers. My friend Sam in Texas is out every morning in her garden capturing these amazing blooms. The buds bloom just at dawn and within a couple of hours of sunrise fold away. Right now she is in the midst of an awesome blooming season and many of these cacti are over 10 feet high.

Thanks for sharing these wonderful photos! I love these cacti; have seen them in New Mexico and Arizona, but not Texas. Beautiful!

How gorgeous! I have a cactus which has grown a couple of 'shoots' but is puny compared to these giants. Tx calls!

These are beautiful. Do the flowers coincide with the visit of a particular bird?

Very pretty, cactus flowers are rather intriguing. My in-laws have several amazing HUGE cactus in their yard which have been a source of awe and treasured photo ops. A definite reward for the early riser!
