Special for Toni and Bridget

Toni and Bridget both know how squeemish (read that "girlie") I am about bugs so when I was at the Steinhart Aquarium in San Francisco yesterday and ran across this display of butterflies and beetles, I could not resist taking pictures and posting them here. The butterflies are so pretty and the bugs!, well, it was amazing to see them reflecting exactly the same beautiful green color. I actually spent some time LOOKING at the beetles, my friends. So, even though I have no idea what their name designation is, I'm betting that with time the two of YOU will be able to tell ME.

At first I thought the top case looked like bats. Wrong! So glad you had a chance to go there. You're supposed to go there when the Valley is at 103! Whatever were you thinking? Good luck this week. b.

It's amazing . How do they train those insects to arrange themselves in such neat rows to be photographed?

First off... LOL at Jeremy's comment!

Is the beetle a Delta Green Ground Beetle? The butterfly/moth... I have no idea, but it certainly is beautiful! My insect knowledge would fill a teaspoon, with enough room left over for a bunch of bugs to hold a dance contest.

I don't like bugs, but I've seen those at the Aquarium and thought the displays were fabulous. Thanks for the reminder!
