Thanksgiving

The table felt small this year without a parent
but mom and dad were there in spirit.
Quanah and Marcia were only a phone call away.
Zachary is always in our thoughts.
The table felt small this year
but the spirit of family rang true.

I remember the first Holiday season without Mom. It's not easy...
Glad you had a good Thanksgiving.
You have Apple Franciscan Ware, I have Desert Rose...

We had this experience also, with my father in the Alzheimer's unit. It seemed odd, but it also seemed to draw our smaller group closer.

(love your napkins and dishes)

Our table has shrunken so much over the years - this year there were 3 1/2 of us (I count my mother in law as half - with her demetia, she's not quite with us most of the time!) As you put it so well - the spirit of family still rings true!

Our group was small this year...only 6 of us, but we were a happy group, and I'm thankful for our being able to be together.

Our group was small too, but it was the ones that I loved the most.
I know this was a bittersweet day for you, but your outlook is wonderful. You were in my thoughts.
