Paying it forward CHALLENGE

I saw this at Kristen Robinson's blog this morning. Click here for info. Thank you for pointing it out to me Gypsey.

After reading the two chapters in which Ishmael Beah recounted his two years as a boy soldier in Sierra Leone, I couldn't help but want to do something random, kind, and good for a stranger. How simple a cup of coffee is. My challenge to all of you today is to do something random, something kind for the person behind you in the next coffee line you find yourself in. Spread the word. Ask it of others. With every act of good to others, we can cancel out an act of evil. With enough goodness, we can overtake and cancel out EVIL. It truly is not an impossible task. We just need to each take our own individual step in the direction of GOODNESS.

Goodness triumphing over evil. There's an idea whose time has come. Will do my best, oh sage one.

I Love this whole concept and try to do it on a daily basis but I am sure some days I forget to be a little extra kind. But I will search out a random act today.
Thanks for that reminder!

Yesterday, my first day of retirement I started an 86 year old woman in my courtyard on a walking plan. She is so happy because she can walk, it is just that she was afraid to do it alone. So that is my RAK. We have it all planned how we are going to slowly increase. She is a sweetheart and full of life. Love it. OH and the bonus plan is that it gets me out and moving too. LOL

New meaning for LOL in my retirement. LOL = Lady Of Leisure!

My Father often pays the toll for the person behind him.
My Mother often puts money in an envelope and leaves it in a mailbox of someone in need.
My husbands gives free consulations to anyone who needs or wants it, he would be a very rich man at 5 cents per every person he has helped with legal advice.
And me....it is a tradition I follow from the leaders I have listed above, give generously without reason, it is the giving that brings love.

Wonderful message and post Annie!
You gave warmth to children in need. Your heart is large and full of generosity Annie!

I've done something like that before...in the drive thru at Tim Horton's...I told the girl I would pay for whatever the car behind me had ordered:-) I would have loved to see their faces when the girl told them their order had been paid for! hehe

Our sermon at church this week was on the very same subject - so with two reminders, it must be time for me to take action! Thanks for this reminder, Annie. Lots of good ideas shared in the comments, too :)

Your giving spirit shines through once again in passing along this message. I've often thought of paying the bridge toll for a car behind - though "thought" doesn't do it - next time I will. Any RAK whether monetary or not does make a huge difference not only in the recipients day but in our own hearts as well.

Well done, Anne,

I'm so glad I know you and others in blog land. My DH is a practioner of simple acts of kindness all the time. I can't tell you the number of times people respond to a kind statement or word when we are out and about. It always amazes me when different service people just brighten up because we come into their work and they get to serve us. They even tell us and if we think they are too hurried to 'bother' them that day, they stop what they are doing and demand their hugs or kind word. Truly we can replace evil with kindness!
Beautiful blog!

I am pleased to say that I have done my good deed for the day. I try to help people every day (if I am out and about.) Today, we brought over a load of patty pan squash to our eldery neighbours across the street, as they do not get out and about much to shop for their own market treats.
