Winter Haiku and One Deep Breath

Containers of our past

Winter's light blanket
Hillside sleeps beneath its weight
Past turns to future

This looks like your family must be feeling. I'm so glad you are home and safe and keeping you in my prayers.

Thanks to all. Just be to clear, this is the actual cemetary where George has been laid to rest. His family home is on the hill above the cemetary. You can see the road that climbs up the hill to their house in the upper left of the picture. It is an incredibly beautiful and peaceful place.

Don't let frost take hold of your heart.
I am glad you are able to create some beauty out of that sorrow.

Beautiful. The image of the newish barns with the very old stones is compelling and rally complements your poem.
