Day Two with Our Lady

When I was in the 3rd grade, we were living in Illinois when my father was transferred to a duty station on California. Before I left school, Sr. Mary Magdalene gave me this statue as a parting gift. She contained a large black rosary; the sort that nuns used to wear on their habits. The rosary is broken now but I still have part of it within the statue. she had kept me company now for 56 years.

She's lovely.

I wonder whatever happened to that sweet nun? Did she realize how deeply she had touched your heart with her gift?

I have no idea, Au. I never went back there again. I remember that she was relatively young. It is entirely possible that she is still alive, albeit very very old.

The little statue is beautiful, quite a gift. You must have been a really special student. So cool that you still have it!
