Last week I received a random email from Oregon. Well, not so random since it was specific to me and I have to tell you – it was such a big surprise.

A young woman in Oregon who enjoys traveling around her part of the state happens to admire a particular old burnt out farmhouse just outside of Forest Grove, OR.  Interestingly,  every time I visit family up there, we drive by to see what is happening with this old house, too. So –

Imagine my surprise and delight when this young woman wrote and introduced herself to me. She was intrigued by this old house as well and in exploring for its history, apparently ran across some of the pictures I’ve taken of it over the years.

The happy ending to this story is that she sent me a couple of photos of how the house is looking these days. It is definitely leaning more and it appears that only a tree is stopping the downward pull of gravity.

I can safely say, in answer to her sentiment – yes – I did very much enjoy the pictures and thank you so much for sending them.

My goodness, what an amazing sight!!! In your older post, I wonder who put those shawls out back? Have you found out anything about it?

These places that lean so and take time in their stride are fascinating. Thanks for this post.
