Morning with Mary

I visited with Mary this morning at a small chapel not too far from our house.  It was so quiet.  Yes, I could hear the activities on the other side of the walls and doors but they didn't intrude; they felt normal.  It was life going on in the background.  At the fourth decade of the Luminous Mysteries, The Transfiguration of Our Lord, I found myself spontaneously rising and walking the rest of the Rosary.  Up and down the side and center aisles I went, back and forth, an infinity pattern reminding me of the Alpha and Omega of Revelation.    He is the beginning and the end and the start of our new beginning, an infinite promise to us.

I am not religious but there is something homey about a Catholic church. Maybe it is all the ornate artwork and accessories. The incense and the chanting and clicking and ticking of beads and words.
Sounds as if you were immersed in your visit to your chapel this morning and that is exactly as it should be.
Peace~

I love this weaving from your morning... it is interesting to me, for as I walked my labyrinth this morning and circled round the center I too thought of the alpha and omega... this mystery that connects us all no matter where we walk in life... XO

A lovely post Annie - the mental picture I have of you doing this devotion is so peaceful. Thank you for sharing this contemplative moment in your life.

How I wish there were an open church where I could visit whenever I felt so.
Even the Catholic church in our town is closed on week days.
I've never forgotten my first meeting with the common Catholic church in Ireland.
I was as usually lightening candles for my loved ones, when a young mother came in, bringing her youngest in a trolley and lots of nets dangling from the handle. She set the cart aside lit a candle, knelled and left after just a minute, her face in perfect peace.
That's the kind of church I love. Where I can bring my troubles and find peace, where I can sing, worship, share, but also be alone in divine company.

Yes, a beautiful promise, I may question everything but I never question my origin!

This is a beautiful painting, Annie. And your words are beautiful as well. I wish I had the peaceful, trusting, seeking spirit within me that you have. But alas it never as been, and probably never will be. So I will simply enjoy yours from your blog.

Re the grandegg. Aww, dont cry. It is as it should be. xoxoxo
