Unpacking my past revealed these pretty dresses that my mom wore as a baby. I hand washed them today and pressed them. Sprayed them with some Fabreeze and voila!, fresh and like new.
I've never had knitted or crocheted hand things as a baby, but my mom made all of my clothes during World War II and beyond. She was fast too! Isn't it fun to see the old timey things?
Annie: Go see my blog. I posted the email you said I should share with the world. Interesting how your Part II below is a step I took too. I considered it lightening my load.
Life treasures are to be valued. It it is not a treasure - get rid of it.
I just came over from Carmen's to say congratulations on your award that she gifted you with...I enjoy your blog and these sweet baby dresses and caps! :)
What amazing treasures of the past. You are on a path of such rediscovery it's very impressive. You seem very methodical in your approach to weaving all of these threads. I truly believe it will all come together cohesively and you will be in a very calm state of mind. Your introspection is not only within the space of your home...but within past and present that is leading you to the best possible future. I hope that made sense. XOXO

Nothing slapdash about garment construction back then--elegant in simplicity or in detail.
