Friend, Corey Amaro, documents her life in France on Facebook and at her blog, Tongue in Cheek. Currently she is in Paris supervising the renovation of an apartment. She closely documents the work of the men there and has elicited many Ooh-La-La's inspired by her sharing of their work with us.
She also is in her element as she explores the brocante wonderland that is Paris. Recently she posted a portrait of Mary that was done by some unknown artist. It reminds me of images taken from the Sistine Chapel - the hand of God reaching and directing, the descent of the Holy Spirit, the angel carrying the crown to the head of the Blessed Mother.
Many thanks to Corey for finding and sharing this picture; thanks to the unknown but inspired hands that created the painting; and many thanks to the brocante hands that have preserved this painting for others to find and enjoy.

Well, I love learning something new,
and seeing what I haven't seen.
The painting is lovely, it looks like a fresco. ♥♥
It is a lovely painting. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Annie,
You could link in to Blue Monday with this beauty.

It almost looks like art on a wall as opposed to a painting. Fresco is on a vase? I don't know my art lingo. Beautiful and wish I had seen it. We both had Mary in Paris today.
What a wonderful opportunity and such a beautiful photo. Thank you also for your very interesting comment on my blog about your parents and your Dad's time in Lake Forest. I hope you get back there. My parents are long gone too and maybe I'll go home one day to see my old home. Take care and have a great week, Denise :)
What a mystery! It is too bad we will never know he or she's name.
So lovely Annie... this portrait and reminding me that it has been a while since I visited Cory... thank you for sharing this with us. XO
amazing how much this looks like a mexican retablo painted on tin!
gorgeous annie, so glad you shared this!
Paris is filled with Marys and Madonnas - so many of them unknown - a lovely sharing

The painting is beautiful. Europe has so many wonderful, historic paintings.
