Postcard from Paradise

In another light
Quaint corners charm and beguile
Then and now collide

Collision grabs us
Imagination dances
U-turn hard brake stands

Mix it, consume it
Smoke encircled memories
Past's flavor pleases

Patter beating heart
Lost in questions of longing
Anon, time answers

In quests for answers
No yearning reaches from me

haiku my heart

Can an old heart stretch?
Can faith embrace a young heart?
The answer is yes.

Obscure, I know, and deeply personal, but somehow I had to express the emotional response of the physical feeling in my heart that just won't stop.  Have you ever been touched so profoundly by the trust given to you by another that nothing else suffices but that swelling feeling in your heart that echoes on and on and on?  It's been an hour and the echoing is still coming in waves.

Alarming - Haiku My Heart

I went to bed at 1 a.m. this morning.  Getting caught up in old Turner Classic Movies can be fatal to getting sleep.  I noticed that the clock in the bedroom said 2:00 a.m. and I had one of those "Huh" moments but didn't pursue it.  Time to get to sleep.

This morning the alarm went off at 6:30 just like it was supposed to.  It's Farmer's Market day and set up was waiting for us no later than 7:30.  Odd how dark the world looked outside my window at 6:30 this morning.  How depressing to see, on the cable box clock 15 minutes later, that it wasn't even 6:00 yet.  Who knows how it happened but somehow the bedroom clock got pushed ahead an hour.

I decide not to mention it to hubby since he was already up and dressing for the day.  I figured it would be soon enough to tell him he had time for a nap. And - I was right.

Haiku My Heart

Sometimes life offers up sober messages.  When we doubt, messages can arrive in unexpected ways; ways that will instruct us and affirm our deepest beliefs. We have only to listen and hear. I just recently read a short story that had a simple and heart-rending message.  It was a message from Hell, from one lost to redemption.  It is a cautionary tale for hearts still beating with the breath of Hope

Our greatest torment
Knowing with certainty that
We'll nay see God

He who possesses
God lacks nothing; has no needs
God will not desert

Lonely I am not
Contemplation, inner peace
Inhale, breath of Hope
